Resistance Training Explained By Sos Personal Training Company, Cardiff
Cardiff personal trainer and Cardiff Boot Camp expert Sam O’Sullivan explains the different types of ways you can get a resistance workout. Resistance training is absolutely vital, to increase lean muscle mass, tone up, boost metabolism, burn body fat and delay the onset and even totally restrict the onset of osteoporosis. In the Cardiff health club gym, that I use to personal train Cardiff residents there are many pieces of kit. Resistance training exercises can be performed using; resistance machines, resistae bands, dumbbells, kettlebells, stability balls, BOSU’s, reebok decks, cable machines, TRX Bands and even simply a clients body weight. So which piece of kit would I use for my cardiff personal training sessions. All the kit is beneficial for my cardiff personal training and I do use the majority of kit on a weekly basis depending on each individual client. As a successful south wales personal trainer, I honestly believe that variety is key. By using different pieces of kit, it not only challenges your body slightly differently each time, but also keeps the client mentally stimulated and challenged. My favourite piece of resistance kit are kettlebells. I use kettlebells in my Cardiff Bootcamp (Cardiff Kettlebell Boot camp) and my clients are seeing phenomenol results. Kettlebells involve total body exercises, that works legs, core and upper body. It really is a challenge to perform some exerxises!! It also provides a tough cardiovascular workout and if used effectively can burn hundreds of calories in a single session. They are also convenient, although heavy are moveable and I often take them on home visits. This alws my clients to have an amazing resistance personal training session, in their own front room. Many people want weightloss yet they do no resistance training. If this is you, then you must address this. You are severely reducing your chances of success as this is vital to weight loss. In 2009, my clients in total lost 56 stone and 11 lbs. Even though 90 percent of my cardiff personal trainer sessions involved resistance training. The results speak volumes, resistance training is far more important than machine based Cardiovascular exercise. My least favourite form of resistance training is machines. These work muscles in a fixed plain and are not functional. Personally I would rather use body weight exercises such as; press ups, dips, pull ups, squat thrusts and burpees. These exercises involve the whole body and activating your core. They are therefore far more beneficial to you exercisers.
