Official Match Ball World Cup
To be selected as the ball for the World Cup, it must truly be the best. For the competition this year was selected the new Official Match ball World cup! The creation of balls from Adidas has started far back in 1963 and is currently leading in their production. Adidas Jabulani is their new discovery.
Under the supervision of the Adidas Innovation Team (A.I.T) in strict laboratory conditions, many tests were made. Fortune to try the new Official Match ball World cup had professional players and club teams of the football pitch. Various tests were made by the Sports Technology Research Group of the University of Loughborough – leading sports institution in the world. Results are individual and made all tests prove that this ball is the most stable flight and most of all round.
High standards are set by FIFA for quality, ensure that all players in the World Cup a ball from a global level. All the criteria set by the Football Association is surpassed many times by the new ball. Adidas Jabulani is doing a superb test of Loughborough University and Adidas to the laboratory in Scheinfeld. Tests were made: Perfect Weight Test, Shape and Size Retention Test, Uniform Rebound Test. The new official ball show that no other contender for this great sporting event.
Perfect Weight Test: If a ball is too heavy or too light, it may move unexpectedly in flight to alter its trajectory. Weight is of crucial importance to any professional game is played with a different number of balls.
• FIFA-Approved Standard: Weight between 420 and 445 grams
• Official Match ball World cup: Weight 440 grams (+ / – 2 grams)
Shape and Size Retention Test: A football is kicked on average about 2000 times during a soccer match. In the final minute of overtime official ball should be in the same condition as it was in the first minute of the match. To be tested the new Official Match ball World cup, that keeps its shape and size, it is launching against a steel wall with 50 km/h 2000 times to be approved by Fifa Hallmark. After the seams and made test air valve must remain intact, and may have allowed minor changes in air pressure and roundness.
• FIFA-Approved Standard: 2,000 cycles at 50 km per hour
• Official Match ball World cup: 3,500 cycles at 50 km per hour
Uniform Rebound Test: Each player must be able to determine how a ball will react when touched with his foot, taking over breasts, thighs or head. To run this test the official ball is dropped 10 times on a steel plate at a height of 2 meters. The difference between the lowest and the highest jump should not be more than 10 centimeters.
• FIFA-Approved Standard: No more than 10 cm
• Official Match ball World cup: 143 cm measured at 20 ° C
