A soccer jersey which belonged to an individual player of a particular team during a particular match fetches a lot of money in the case of an auction. If the player is famous, his jersey will be something to die for. It becomes a collector’s item. People wrestle each other to get that jersey and the team ends up getting a good price for it. Thus, bidding for soccer jerseys of famous players is a good way of generating good revenue for the various soccer clubs.
Another way of generating revenue is by making replica kits of the team and then making them available for the use of the general public. Many clubs are notorious for selling the soccer jerseys at a very high price at the mega stores. Hence, fans buy duplicate jerseys which have been imported from different countries.
Many players even donate their jerseys in the name of a good cause. Seeing the popularity of these jerseys, many organizations put the autographed soccer jerseys in fund raising events.
Recently, women’s soccer teams have become equally famous. They are even playing in the Olympics. So now it has emerged as a serious sport. Thus, we can see female audiences also wearing soccer jersey of their favorite teams, and, thereby, giving them their undisputed support. Hence, both males and females are equally supportive of this world wide game and for the wearing of particular jerseys, which shows pride and support for their particular teams. Just by spotting the jerseys in the audiences, one can be aware which team has got the maximum number of supporters in that ground. It is also a sign of the popularity of that team.
